Since Apple’s new product of 2013, the iPhone 5S, came out, users have being reporting problems they met, such as the blue screen of death. Now iPhone 5S is courting controversy again. Some iPhone 5S users have claimed that the battery in their devices drained faster and faster. Apple has acknowledged this battery life issue and said that some unites of the phone have a manufacturing defect which cause the iPhone 5S battery short life problem. It also promised to replace customers with new iPhone.
“We recently discovered a manufacturing issue affecting a very limited number of iPhone 5S devices that could cause the battery to take longer to charge or result in reduced battery life,” Teresa Brewer, an Apple spokesman said, “We are reaching out to customers with affected phones and will provided them with a replacement phone.”
Apple only confirmed the iPhone 5S battery draining faster issue, but hasn’t yet specified the number of units affected by the issue or the particular batch that’s affected. Rumors said that there may be “a few thousand” iPhone 5S that have the battery life issue.
In the past, Apple has dealt with a variety of battery-related problems, such as the unexpected shutdown issue with some MacBook Pro and MacBook Air laptops, which Apple has released a firmware update to solve.
Earlier this month, it was reported that motion sensors including the Level, Gyroscope, Compass, and Accelerometer on Apple’s iPhone 5S were not working properly. Apple has released the iOS 7.0.3 update that can fix the accelerometer calibration issue. The update also improved the system stability of the phone when using iWork apps.
